Elite of Scotland’s Legal Profession Awarded at the Law Awards of Scotland 2011
The Law Awards of Scotland’s annual black tie gathering took place at the Hilton in Glasgow on Thursday 8th September.
The event was attended by the elite of Scotland’s legal profession who were there to watch as the 2011 awards were revealed.
Before the results were announced by host Dougie Donnelly, guests were entertainment by classical singer Nicola Cassells before enjoying dinner.
The winners on the night included; Law Firm of the Year (over 50 fee earners) which went to Aberdein Considine & Co and Law Firm of the Year (under 50 fee earners) which was awarded to Andersons Solicitors LLP. The Chairman’s Award, picked by Des Browne, was awarded to Simpson and Marwick who are celebrating their 125th year in business.
The award for Legal Personality of the Year was given to Maggie Scott QC and Legal Academic of the Year went to the late Elaine Tyre.
The 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Lord Rodger of Earlsferry who sadly passed away earlier this year.
