The Law Awards of Scotland celebrated their 10th anniversary on Thursday 12th September at the Radisson Blu, Glasgow. Winners on the night included Harper MacLeod LLP, Thompsons Solicitors, Watermans, Captial Defence Lawyers and McQueen Legal amongst others. Inksters Solicitors picked up the Chairman's Award, chosen by this year's chair, Ros McInnes of BBC Scotland.
Lord Hope, the former Lord President of the Court of Session and Lord Justice General, Scotland's highest judge, who retired earlier this year was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Former Herald journalist Bruce McKain was named Legal Personality of the Year.
Three individuals were presented with a Special Recognition Awards to mark the tenth year of the Law Awards of Scotland – Advocate Claire Mitchell, Colin Anderson, rhe former legal manager at Standard Life and Steven Raeburn, Former Editor of legal publication The Firm.

Each year the Law Awards of Scotland secures an independent judging panel to cast their eyes over the many submissions that are made and to decide on who is worthy of a coveted Law Awards trophy. More information about the 2013 panel will be revealed in the coming weeks.
